Google Meet integration
Google Meet generates unique video meeting links automatically for calendar events and scheduler bookings. Every confirmed meeting gets its own room ready before anyone needs to ask for a join link.
Prerequisites
Google Meet runs on top of the Gmail/Google integration. The user creating the event needs an active Google connection on their own profile, because Plutio uses that connection to call the Google Calendar API and generate the meeting link. Once your Google account is connected, Google Meet appears as a location option automatically. No separate authorization or setup step is needed.
If no team member on the event has a Google connection, the link cannot be generated and the event still saves without one (see What happens if link creation fails below).
How to add Google Meet to an event
- Create or edit a calendar event in your workspace.
- Select "Google Meet" as the location type. Google Meet appears in the location dropdown alongside other options.
- Save the event. Plutio generates a unique Google Meet link and attaches the link to the event automatically.
How to add Google Meet to a booking page
- Open or create a booking page.
- Set the location to "Google Meet."
- Save the booking page. Each confirmed booking will get its own unique Google Meet link.
Where Google Meet links appear
The generated link shows up in three places:
- The event detail view inside Plutio.
- The notification email sent to all participants.
- The synced Google Calendar event.
Participants can join from whichever place they see the link first. Each meeting gets its own link, so participants always join the correct room.
What happens if link creation fails
If the Google Meet link cannot be generated (for example, the Google connection has expired, permissions were revoked, or no one on the event has a Google integration), the event is still saved on the calendar. The location field stays empty instead of holding a meeting link, and no error message is shown in the event form.
If you save an event with Google Meet selected and the link doesn't appear:
- Open the event and check the Location field. If it's empty, the link was not generated.
- Reconnect the Gmail/Google integration from My profile > Integrations.
- Edit the event, set the location to Google Meet again, and save. The link will be generated on the next save.
You can also paste a manual meeting link into the location field as a fallback while you fix the connection.
