PayPal integration
Connecting PayPal adds a familiar payment option to your invoices, forms, and booking pages. Clients can pay from their PayPal balance, a linked bank account, or a card on file. Payments process through your own PayPal account at standard PayPal fees. Plutio doesn't hold any funds.
How to connect PayPal
- Go to Settings > Integrations > PayPal.
- Enter your PayPal email address in the PayPal integration settings. This is the email associated with the PayPal account where you want to receive payments.
- Save the connection. PayPal now appears as an available payment method for your invoices, forms, and booking pages.
How PayPal payments work
- Enable PayPal on an invoice from the invoice settings. A "Pay with PayPal" button appears alongside any other active payment methods.
- The client clicks "Pay with PayPal" on the invoice. The client is redirected to PayPal's checkout flow.
- The client completes payment using their PayPal balance, a linked bank account, or a card on file.
- The client is redirected back to Plutio. The invoice status updates to "paid" automatically, and the transaction is logged with the amount, date, and payment method.
PayPal alongside other payment methods
Multiple payment methods can be active on the same invoice. Stripe handles card payments, PayPal handles PayPal-specific payments, and bank transfer details can sit alongside both. Clients see every available option when they open the invoice and choose the one they prefer.
