There're a few things you could try If you're receiving an error when trying to set up your Gmail account as a custom email address;

Generate an app password for Plutio [recommanded] and use the app password in plutio email settings instead of your main password.

Visit your App passwords page. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account. (If you see a message “The setting that you are looking for is not available for your account.” – this means 2-Step Verification is not enabled on your account. Enable it first.)
At the bottom, click Select app and choose the app you’re using.
Click Select device and choose the device you’re using.
Select Generate.
Follow the instructions to enter the App password (the 16 character code in the yellow bar) on your device.
Select Done.

Allow per-user outbound gateways

Turn off 2-Step Verification.

Allow the access from the less secure app. The activity may show from an Unknown Device.

Enable "less secure apps".

Unlock

It is recommended using smtp.gmail.com or smtp-relay.gmail.com as the server relay for when connecting a GSuite account. Please try both.
